White House wishes "Radical Left Lunatics" a happy May 4th with Star Wars eye poison – AV Club
Joining Studio Ghibli and the Pope’s death in having its meaning and cultural import stripped away for tacky trolls by the U.S. government, Star Wars has become part of the White House’s official social media strategy. Stretching the world’s water supply to the absolute limits, the White House used AI to generate an image of an absolutely shredded Jedi Donald Trump holding the red lightsaber, just like the ones used by the series’ many good guys. In a post-aping Trump’s infamous 9/11 tweet, the White House account, which traded helpful government information for “Lo-fi MAGA Video to Relax/Study To” videos, wished “happy May the 4th to all.” The government’s well wishes extended to the “Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting so hard to to [sic] bring Sith Lords, Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, & well known MS-13 Gang Members, back into our Galaxy.” “You’re not the Rebellion—you’re the Empire,” writes the administration currently disappearing people to a foreign prison without trial.

We don’t need to litigate the blatant and willful misinterpretations of George Lucas’ fantasy universe or Donald Trump’s 78-year-old body. Part of the propaganda is to get Radical Left Star Wars nerds in a huff about the self-own of Trump using a red lightsaber. Though we do appreciate how much the White House invests in the wish-fulfillment of its base, which so desires a president with 24-inch pythons that it’s willing to debase itself with Star Wars-inspired propaganda centered on a former reality TV businessman who probably has a great Last Jedi take.
