11 events to celebrate Pride Month 2025 in the Wilmington area – Wilmington Star-News

Pride Month is celebrated every year in June to recognize the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising.
The Stonewall Uprising, also known as the Stonewall Riots, which was a response to a police raid at the gay bar Stonewall Inn, was a turning point in the gay rights movement in the United States.
Hi-Wire PrideFest 2025 will be held on Sunday, June 1 from noon-11 p.m. at Hi-Wire Brewing – Wilmington, 1020 Princess St.  There will be pizza from Cugino Forno Wilmington, iced-cold beer, cocktails and more.

The Downtown ILM Market and Pomona Pop Ups present Wilmington ‘Love is Love’ Pride Fest to celebrate the first day of Pride Month on Sunday, June 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Bend at 7227 Market St., Wilmington. There will be food trucks, craft beers and cocktails. Live jams from local musicians and shopping from local, small businesses. Also brand new Pride merchandise (with a portion of proceeds going to LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast).
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Wilmington will hold a Pride service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 1 at 4313 Lake Ave.
Faith Leaders United will be hosting Wilmington Faith Leaders United Pride gathering on Thursday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Jude’s Metropolitan Church, 19 N. 26th St. in Wilmington. Theme: “We Honor Your Path.”
Queer Family Play dates are held the first Saturday every month. Queer Family will meet on Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. For location and more information, email info@lgbtqcapefear.org.
An Adult Pride Prom, host by the LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast, will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 7-10 p.m. at The Eagle’s Dare, 420 N. Third St., Wilmington. Light refreshments and a cash bar. Tickets are $25 available at lgbtqcapefear.org/events/.
A Pride party will be held at The Eagle’s Dare on Sunday, June 15 from 1-8 p.m. at The Eagle’s Dare, 420 N. Third St., Wilmington. A drag brunch will be held at 1 p.m. follow by a vendor market at 3 p.m. Drag for a lip synch battle with special guests at 5 p.m. Music by DJ Brewtal.
Pleasure Island Pride 2025 will be held June 22-27 in Carolina Beach. All proceeds will benefit the LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast.

An adult Pride skating party to benefit the LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast will be held on Tuesday, June 24 from 8-11 p.m. at Scooter’s Family Skating Center, 341 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington. The skate party is an event for ages 18 and over. Admission is $10 at the door and includes skate or roller blade rental. Featuring DJs: Brewtal, Bobby Zee, and Scott. There will be raffle prizes, live DJs. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds benefits LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast.
The LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast will host the Family Pride Festival on Saturday, June 28 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Long Leaf Park, pavilions #4-6, located at 314 Pine Grove Drive in Wilmington. The event is open to the public. There will be arts and crafts, games, and a vendor market. There also will be food at the event, available to purchase. The event is free to enter, but donations will be accepted to support the LGBTQ Center.
Silent Disco Wilmington and Hi-Wire Brewing – Wilmington presents Pride Silent Disco on Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m. at Hi-Wire Brewing – Wilmington, 1020 Princess St. Open to ages 18 and over. Tickets: www.eventbrite.com/e/pride-silent-disco-at-hi-wire-wilmington-tickets-1335481163109.
